We started Keap because we love scented candles, but without a certain elemental partner a candle is incomplete: fire! That's why we include matches with every candle. So when we came across the artful past of Japanese match box designs we knew we had to pay homage to our flammable friends' creative backgorund.
We reached out to our friends at Object_ify139—who promote work by local emerging artists—and crafted a set of 50 silk-screened and hand assembled 3-inch matchboxes. The result, we think, is stunning: part art object, part print series, and composed of five different designs that pay homage to New York City and our fragrances.
